Flossie Evelyn (Ayler) Turner Boyle Obituary
Flossie Evelyn (Ayler) Turner Boyle, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, NM.
Flossie was born July 7, 1923, at Norton, NM. She had been a long time Tucumcari, NM, resident with her living at the Retirement Ranch in Clovis for the past 1 1/2 years.
Flossie graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1942 and married Carus Turner that same year. Together they had a son, Edward and a daughter, Evelyn. The family moved to Washington State in 1953. While rearing her children and being a wife, she attended Nursing School and earned her RN in Nursing. She worked a a country clinic where she had the privilege of assisting in delivering babies, removing tonsils, and a huge variety of health care needs.
Edward passed away in 1957 and her husband, Carus in 1965. She and Evelyn moved back to Tucumcari to be near family. Flossie was a nurse at Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital and also performed special duty shifts caring for the terminally-ill patients. In her spare time, she sold Stanley products and Tupperware.
Flossie married Bill Boyle in 1967 and lived happily until his death in 1980. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and she loved to sing dance, play the harmonica, sew , crochet, garden, and cook.
Surviving Flossie is her daughter, Evelyn Verplancken and husband, Frank of Tucumcari; granddaughter, Deborah Hawk and husband, Tom of Houston, TX; grandson, Justin Ellis of Lubbock, TX; three great-grandchildren, Cody and Gage Ellis and Tyler Hawk, and great-granddaughter, Sydney Hawk; nieces, Lavern Sanderson, Hazel Darnell, Rhonda Everett, and Darlys Frankenhouser and nephew, Dana Ayler along with other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie and Warner Ayler; twin brother, Floyd Ayler and 3 sisters, Naomi Bradley, Ruby Gunn, and Effie Mae Pierman.
Services celebrating his life will be Monday, August 20, 2012, in Dunn Memorial Chapel beginning at 10:30 AM with Pastor Arthur Ellis officiating with interment at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
