Floyd P. Miles Floyd P. Miles, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell. He was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Endee. We was the son of former New Mexico Gov. John and Susie Wade Miles. He was alos a retired captain for the New Mexico State Police. Miles is survived by his wife, Meredith of Roswell, his son Ronnie (Pat) of Roswell, his daughter Jana Miles of Portland, Ore., his former wife, Janice Lumsden of Albuquerque, his brother Wade Miles (Sara) of Tucumcari, his twin brother Lloyd Miles (Betty) of Belen and brother Franklin Miles (Pat) of Santa Fe. He is also survived by his step children Bob Brunner of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary Corman, Cynthia Mitchell and Jeannie Corman all of Roswell and Dale Corman of Ruidoso. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren. He was a state police officer from 1941 to 1981 when he retired in Roswell. Family members said he was the oldest living state police officer in New Mexico. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 17 at Church on the Move in Roswell. Pastor Randy Reeves of Washington Avenue Baptist Church and Pastor Curtis Harding of Church on the Move will officiate.
