Floyd "Shorty" Homer Davis, 78, Edgewood, TX, passed away on February 8, 2011, in Tyler, TX. He was born April 25, 1932, in El Dorado, KS, to the late James Otis and Etta Grace Davis. He had lived in Edgewood about 14 years, moving from Broken Bow, OK, his home of 15 years and Tucumcari, NM, his home of 28 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an auto and truck mechanic for Southwest Motors in Tucumcari, where he was a volunteer firefighter for the city.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Norma Davis, Edgewood, TX; son, Dale Davis and wife, Lisa, Bridgeport, TX; daughters, Phyllis Bailey and husband, Jerry Bolton, MS, and Patti Michels and husband, Tim, Edgewood, TX; 7 grandchildren, Liberty Hawkins, and husband, Jeffrey, Lance Bailey, Jason Davis and wife, Brandy, Jeff Davis, Kristi Michels, T. K. Michels, and Drew Michels; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Martin, Garrett Hawkins, Johanna Bailey, Lance Montana Bailey, Dakota Bailey, Tryston Bailey, Max Bailey, Helen Davis, Maddyson Davis, and Braedon Davis; brother, Bob Davis and wife, Helen, Tucumcari, NM; sister, Rose Mary Bouffard, North Carolina; numerous nieces & nephews.
