Homer H. Farrow Obituary
Homer H. Farrow passed away Saturday August 11, 2018. Homer was born April 22, 1929, in Tucumcari, NM to Ed and Ona Farrow on their dairy farm on Norton Road. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1947. During and after high school he worked at Langley's Feed Store and then was drafted in the U.S. Army in January 1951. He was stationed in Germany with the 2nd Armored Division, 43rd Armored Infantry Battalion, and earned the rank of Corporal, and was honorably discharged in 1953. He then worked on the Southern Pacific Railroad as a switchman, brakeman, and then conductor for 38 years and retired in 1991. In July 1964 he married Joan M. Farrow, and they moved to their farm on Norton Road in 1972.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother and one grandchild. He is survived by his children, Kenneth & Dru Logan, Ron & Bonnie Farrow, Sharon & Dave Strickland, Dennis & Othalee Farrow, and Tim & Michelle Farrow, 1 brother and 2 sisters, 5 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Homer enjoyed traveling, playing music with the local bluegrass club, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the South Plains Honor Flight or to a children's charity fund.
Homer's family would like to invite friends and family to help them celebrate his life at the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari on August 18th at 10 am.
Funeral arrangements have been made by Dunn Funeral Home.
