Obituary Condolences

Born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on July 24, 1930. Parents Lola Mae and Lonnie Sears Barber of San Jon, New Mexico.
He grew up in Porter, NM, where he met Betty June Bennett. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 and fought in the Korean War. He and Betty were married June 16, 1953, in Tucumcari, NM. Irven had many different occupations throughout his life including farming, construction, and oil field work.
His favorite pastime was raising race horses. Irven loved his horses. He liked to hunt, fish and spend time with his family. Irven was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play. He never knew a stranger and anyone who met him was the better for it.
Irven is survived by his wife, Betty June Barber; sons, Rob and Cindy Barber of Logan, NM, Tommy Barber of Justin, TX, and Gayland and Tammy Barber of Burleson, TX; daughter, Karen and Andy Foster of Ponder, TX; as well as 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lola and Lonnie Barber; brothers, JD Barber and JW Barber; sisters, Wanda Paris, Inez Williamson, and Alva Sewell; daughter, Dana Kay Barber; son, Wayne Barber; grandsons, Cody Barber, Trent Barber, Coler Barber, and granddaughter, Delani Marie Barber.
Funeral services will be held April 9, 2009, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Logan, NM, with graveside services following at Logan Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Rily Paris, Lloyd Gerber, Don Polk, Rodney Sewell, Chet Gurule and Mike Barber.
