Joan (Morris) Farrow Obituary
Joan Morris Farrow passed away Thursday May 5, 2016.
Joan was born September 30, 1934, in Cuervo, NM to Guy and Ruby Morris. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1951, and then moved to Tucumcari. Joan worked at NM State Police as a dispatcher and a clerk at ICX and Navajo truck lines. She married Homer Farrow on July 24, 1964, and they moved to their farm on Norton Road in 1972. She was active in running their farm and ranch, raising a family, as well as Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Rebekahs, and Cowbells, and was recently presented the Women in American History Pioneer Award by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister, and one grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, Homer H. Farrow; and her children, Kenneth & Dru Logan, Sharon and Dave Strickland, Ron and Bonnie Farrow, Dennis and Othalee Farrow, and Tim and Michelle Farrow; one sister, Barbara Stallcup; 5 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Joan always enjoyed life, loved making memories, and spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger, and would strike up a conversation with anyone she was near. She also loved traveling, and visited almost every state in the Union, as well as Canada, Mexico, and several countries in Europe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a children's charity fund.
Joan's family would like to invite friends and family to help them celebrate her life at the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari on May 12th, 2016 at 10 a.m. Funeral has been handled by Dunn Funeral Home.
