Larry Clifton Klaverweiden, 58, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at his home in Tucumcari following an extended illness. Mr. Klaverweiden was born Oct. 26, 1949 in Tucumcari.  He was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church.  He graduated from Tucumcari High School.  He was an avid car enthusiast and he loved getting out in the country and looking for rocks and petrified wood, his family said. He was given the nick name "Mr. Tucumcari" because of his love of Tucumcari and promoting the murals around the city.  He supported the youth of Tucumcari and was instrumental in helping to form the Tucumcari Football Club and was an avid Rattler Supporter. Surviving Mr. Klaverweiden are his wife, Carolyn of Tucumcari, his daughter, Ginger (Lane) Bradley, his son, Clifton (Alyson) Klaverweiden of Caldwell, Texas, and two grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother, Jerry Klaverweiden of Tucumcari, and several aunts including Margie Moreland and Teddy Callen, both of Tucumcari. He was preceded in death by his parents Jene and Earlene Klaverweiden, and by his brother Danny Klaverweiden. Tom Broom, minister of the Center Street United Methodist Church, will officiate at the service. Burial will be at the Tucumcari  Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests, for those who wish, donations may be made to the Tucumcari Football Club c/o C.J. Weigel, or to the Quay County 4-H Club or to the Tucumcari Helping Hands Hospice in memory of Larry Clifton Klaverweiden. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
