Linnie L. White Obituary
Linnie L. White, 97, of Raton, NM, passed away Friday, February 27, 2012, in Raton. She was born June 18, 1914, in Paducah, TX. She was the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Fuller) Monroe.
She married Louis Albert (LA) White in 1928. They operated a family farm on Norton Road east of Tucumcari for many years.
After selling the farm, she moved to Espanola, NM, where she owned and operated a retail business. Upon closing the business in Espanola, she moved to Taos, NM, and then to Raton, NM, where she made her home.
She worked for various businesses in Raton, including the Colfax County Clerk's Office. After her retirement, she became a member and volunteer of the MCMC Auxiliary. Linnie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Bethel Chapter #15 in Tucumcari and transferred her membership to the Raton Queen Esther Chapter #1.
Linnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, William (Bill) White; her sister, Mae Ruckman, and her brother, Homer Monroe.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Best of Raton, NM; five grandchildren, Alan Best and wife, Dorothy of Raton, NM, Sheri Keith of Tucumcari, NM, Jim White of Albuquerque, NM, Linda Siler of Glenville, GA, and Debbie Brabham and husband, Danny of Larena, TX; 10 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.
Private services were held on February 25, 2012, in the Garden of Prayer, Tucumcari. Memorial Park Cemetery, Tucumcari, NM.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton, NM.
