Margarito Aragon Sr Margarito Aragon Sr., 92, a 55 year resident Chochas Dam until he moved to Sante Fe in 2001, died Feb. 16, 2005 at the Sombrillo Nursing Home in Los Alamos. Aragon was born in Sabinosos on Dec. 3, 1912 to the late Simon Aragon and Genoveva Maes. He married Maria Marina Martinez on Aug. 22, 1932 in Mosquero. He was a sheep and cattle rancher at Bell Ranch and other areas. He was a farmer at the Clabber Hill Rance. He worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department at the Trementina District 4 and was owner of the Plaza De Chochas Bar and Grill. He loved touring New Mexico, especially the high country areas such as Taos, Mora, Red River and Cimarron Coanon. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pablo Aragon, Alfredo Aragon, Antonio Aragon, Bengino Aragon and Anotonio Aragon; sisters Guadalupe Aragon-Martinez, Julianita Aragon, Antonia Aragon, Adel Aragon and Annie Aragon; and grandson-in-law, Melecio Sanchez. Survivors are his wife, Maria Argon of Los Alamos; two sons Johnny Aragon of Albuquerque, Margarito Aragon, Jr. (Virginia) of Sante Fe; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one expected great-great-grandson and numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Rosary devotional services were Friday evening. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at the Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Church in Sabinoso with Father David Phillipson as celebrant Interment will follow at Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Cemetery in Sabinoso. Casket bearers will be James Lloyd, Abraham Lucero, Juan Aragon, Margarito Aragon, Simon Martinez and Antonio Aragon. Arrangements were made by Rogers Mortuary in Las Vegas.
