1924 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
Margie Lee Walker passed away April 15, 2012, in Albuquerque, NM. Funeral services are at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Rev. Wes Stewart of Temple Baptist Church in Tucumcari officiating, under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery
Margie was born in Dozier, Texas, June 9, 1924, to Luther C. and Josie Reid Brashear, and following a long illness, went to be with her Lord and Savior, April 15, 2012, in Albuquerque, NM. Margie attended school in San Jon, Tucumcari, and what is now Eastern New Mexico University. She moved to Amarillo in 1960, where she worked for Southwestern Public Service for 25 years, retiring in 1986. In Amarillo, she met and married her husband, Harold Walker. Margie was better known to her family as "Paboo", a name given to her by her first niece, Jo Beth Smith. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition and her love for the Lord, her family and friends. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Tucumcari.
Survivors include step-son, Greg Walker and family; Step daughters, Michelle Walker and her family and Sonja Morrone and her family; nieces, Janice Potter, Terrye Womble, Debbie Patton, and Kathy Courtney; nephews, Ronald Benson, Craig Brashear, Neil Brashear,and Ken Brashear, as well as numerous great and great great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Harold Walker; sisters, Valerie Smith, and Nella Beth Benson; brothers, Joe and L.C. Brashear; step-daughter, Sheena; nephew, Richard "Dick" Benson; and a niece, Jo Beth Smith.
