Mary Miquelita Badillo Mary Miquelita Badillo of Tucumcari died Aug. 20, 2003 at West Mesa Care and Rehabilitation Center in Albuquerque. She was born at Drippings Springs to Maximo and Antonia Garcia. Mrs. Badillo graduated from Tucumcari in 1938 and married Nieves Badillo. She was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers Society, The Rail Road Retirement Association and the Lady Democrats. Mary loved her roll as a homemaker and family members said she enjoyed baking for her family and friends and sharing childhood poems with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Richard Badillo and wife Pauline and Ernest Badillo and wife Carmen all of Albuquerque; daughter, Lourdes Otero and husband Billy of Tucumcari; one brother, Bennie Garcia of Logan; one sister, Josephine Espanoza of Tucumcari; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were Friday evening at Dunn Memorial Chapel. Mass of the resurrection is 2 p.m. today at St. Anne's Catholic Church. The Rev. Leo Padget officiated. Pallbearers were Ernie, Michael and Richard Badillo, C.J. Fieteck, David Lopez, John Nials, Dale Olsen, Billy Otero Jr., Joseph Otero, Gerald Rykiel and Tim Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Bell, Tommy Cordova, Jeff Lewalling, Joe Vigil, Jimmy Folks and Robert Garcia. Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Catholic Church in loving memory of Mary Badillo.
