Mildred "Millie" Mills Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Muffley Funeral Chapel in Clovis. Mildred "Millie" Mills, 79 of Logan, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari. Mrs. Mills was born May 19, 1926, to Joseph Eugene and Eleanor Lena Bentley Tucker in Claud. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She lived most of her life in Curry County. She married Marvin Mills on Feb. 14, 1958, in Clovis. Mrs. Mills was a school bus driver for 18 years, worked as a beautician for four years, and helped her husband at Furniture Mart, the family business in Clovis. She and her husband moved to Logan after retirement. Family members said she loved people, dancing, playing 42 and she treated all the school kids on the bus like they were her own kids. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Angelia Porter; three brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Mills is survived by her husband; three sons, Ernie Porter of Logan, Doyle Porter of Clovis and Robert E. Mills of Albuquerque; a daughter, Chris (and husband Garry) Porter Marin of Logan; a brother, Richard Tucker of Plainview, Texas; a sister, Lorraine Horton of Clovis; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate services. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Gayland Griggs, Phillip Griggs, Desmond Griggs, Eddy Griggs, Johnny Jones, Rex Mills and Wesley Payne will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Mills' school bus children will act as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
