Norman D Riegel Obituary
Norman D. Riegel, 89, died Sunday, September 11, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Clovis, NM with Pastor Greg Martin presiding.
Norman was born July 9, 1927, in Ford, KS to Guy and Nellie Riegel. He enlisted in the Navy on 1-29-45 and was stationed at Bruckner Bay, San Francisco, CA and served on the USS Terror and USS Rodman thru 12-2-49 during the Korean War.
Norman married Betty Jo Dearing in 1951 in Albuquerque, NM, they were married for 39 years and had 4 children. He was a driver for the Teamsters Union for over 30 years. Norman married Mildred Pfingsten in 1993, they resided in Tucumcari, NM until 2011 when they moved to Amarillo, TX.
Norman was patient, kind and lived to please others, was the best husband a wife could ask for and loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Riegel; a son, Chuck Riegel; a brother, Clyde Riegel; and his second wife, Mildred Riegel.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy Miller and husband Bill Miller of Clovis, NM; son, Mike Riegel and wife Shirley Riegel of Duncan, OK; daughter, Donna Donnell and husband Steve Donnell of Amarillo, TX; brother, Wayne Riegel and wife Linda Riegel; brother, Bob Riegel and wife Maris Riegel; sister-in-law, Edith Riegel; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Alzheimers (alz.org).
