Pamela (Rutherford) Livingston Obituary
It is with profound sadness that her family announces the passing of Pamela Rutherford Livingston on August 9, 2015, following a lengthy illness and a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Pam was a devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother, a loving sister and daughter, and a friend to many.
She was born September 13, 1948, in Osaka, Japan where her father Lt. Colonel Samuel Rutherford was stationed. The family later moved to El Paso, TX where she grew up. She graduated from Eastwood High School where she was a member of the Eastwood Trooperette Dance Team. Pam went on to Sul Ross State University and graduated with a degree in Education.
While attending Sul Ross, she met and fell in love with Randy Livingston; they were married for 44 years. She was a devoted wife to Randy and dreaded being away from him for any amount of time. Her love for him was evident to everyone; she adored him as he adored her and took care of her as her illness progressed. Pam and Randy resided in El Paso, TX where Pam taught 2nd grade for 1 1\2 years. After giving birth to their first daughter, Keri, Pam decided to stay home and devote herself to her children. She later gave birth to 2 more daughters, Kyle and Kim, while living in El Paso. The family relocated to Tucumcari, NM in 1983. Pam continued to stay at home with her girls and later added a boy to the Livingston Family. Having their son, Ryan, completed their family and gave her so much joy. In the early 1990's, she taught school again at Granger Elementary for a brief period of time but again chose to stay home and raise her children. His recent college graduation made her extremely proud to have 4 college graduates, it was a great accomplishment for her to watch her children fulfill their dreams.
Pam leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Randy; their three adoring daughters and son, Keri Livingston Choat, Kyle Livingston Thompson and husband Trevor Thompson, Kimberly Livingston Klutts and husband Brandt Klutts and Ryan Rand Livingston. Outside of her 4 children, she also leaves behind her 5 grandchildren, Brooks Klutts, Molly Klutts, Weston Klutts, Brady Neese, and Randi Choat. Pam is also survived by her mother, Janice Rutherford of El Paso, TX, and her younger sister, Nancy Rutherford of El Paso, TX, along with many loving family members in Pensacola, FL.
She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Arthur Rutherford.
Memorial Services for Pam were held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Tucumcari, NM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Tucumcari Home Health and Hospice.
Arrangements entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari NM.
