Randy Bonney Obituary
Randy Bonney, 61, of Radium Springs, passed away after a very valiant fight against cancer on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Veteran's Medical Center in Tucson, AZ.
He was born in Albuquerque, NM on June 17, 1953, to James and Emily Bonney. Randy graduated from Las Cruces High in 1972 and soon thereafter joined the U.S. Navy where he served as an airman. After leaving the Navy, he lived in Kansas City, where he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. After returning to Las Cruces, he received his welding certification from Dona Ana Community College. He went on to work at White Sands.
Randy loved fishing, horseback riding and roping, the outdoors, his dogs, and having a good time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Bonney; his father, Jim Bonney; and his niece, Liberty Bonney.
Survivors include his brothers, Jim Bonney of Kennewick, WA; George (Ellen) Bonney of Overland Park, KS; and his sister, Liz (Jeff Gardner) Bonney of Las Cruces. Other survivors include nieces, Kelly Guthrie, Amy Steudle, Emily Bonney, and Melanie Bonney. He is also survived by his aunts, Mary A. Garza of Las Cruces, Joel (Bill) Johnson of Santa Rosa, Marilyn Martinez of Seattle, WA, and Lorraine Martinez of Tucson, AZ; his uncle, Leroy (Darlene) Bonney of Dilia as well as many cousins all over the United States.
Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held at the Newman Center in Las Cruces on June 13, 2015, at 2:00 with interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM on July 6, 2015, at 12:45.
We will miss him most for his humor, his generosity, and his willingness to help anyone.
