Ray Warren Brown Obituary
Mr. Ray Warren Brown, 53 years old, of Osage County, OK, died July 7, 2009, in the home of his sister, Jessie Irene Clarkson of Dewey, OK. His death was due to lung cancer.
He was born in Richmond, VA, on February 25, 1956, the oldest child of James J. Brown and Eva Susan Fink Brown. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in Clovis, NM, and served until his early retirement in1985 in the Tulsa, OK, area, visiting often to see the place he called home, House, NM.
He was a mechanic by trade, also a Master Builder. His greatest love was writing songs, playing lead guitar and singing with the "Black Widow Band" of Independence, KS. His love for music was formed by his deceased grandmother and uncle, Jewell I. Stone and Donald W. Fink of House, NM.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Harding of House, NM; two sons, Shane Brown of Skiatook, OK, and Jason Brown and wife, Tabitha; granddaughter, Natalynn and grandson, Kyle,all of West Palatka, FL; three brothers, Leonard R. Brown and wife of Carriere, MS, James H. Harding III. Of Tulsa, OK, And Alexander R. Harding and wife of Greenville, NC; three sisters, Jessie I. Clarkson and husband of Dewey, OK, Nannette Covey and husband of Towanda, PA, and Belinda Wooldridge and husband of House, NM, and twenty nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother, Kenneth M. Brown.
He will be missed by a host of family and friends from across the country that knew and loved him.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory, Bartlesville, OK, followed by a memorial service to be announced at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at Muskogee, OK.
