1941 - 2010 Obituary Condolences
Ruby Nealene Smith Bradley, age 68, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, at her home in Quay, NM, following an extended illness.
Nealene was born June 17 1941, in Vaughn, NM, to Herbert N. and Mozel Smith. Nealene married Jerry Bradley on August 26, 1958. She graduated from Tucumcari High School and was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church. She sold Avon for 23 years and so enjoyed visiting with her customers. She had been the Assistant District Manager and had earned numerous awards. She had been a 4-H Leader for 25 years, and served on the Quay Community Center Board as Secretary and Treasurer. She also served on the Quay County Health Clinic Board and was a member of Quay Community Rural Fire Dept. She was a founding member of the Captains of Cancer Control in the 1970s.
Surviving her is her husband, Jerry of Quay, NM; her daughter, Jerrene McCord and husband, Mac; her sons, James Bradley and wife, Mary Belle and Lane Bradley and wife, Ginger all of Tucumcari, NM; grandchildren, Mandy and Wade Strand of Logan, NM, Phillip and Amanda Griggs and Brad Griggs of Tucumcari, Garrett Bradley, Ashlee Bradley and Taylor Atwood all of Tucumcari, NM; great grandchildren, Emma and Joseph Garcia, Nicole, Chandler, Alexis and Kylie Griggs, Cottan and Wade Strand. Also surviving is her brother, Don Smith and wife, Joan of Las Vegas, NM, and her sister, JoAnne Jones and husband, R.J. of Clovis, NM, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services celebrating his life will be Saturday afternoon March 20, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the Dunn Memorial Chapel with Associate Pastor Mike Holster of the Leveland Texas Second Baptist Church officiating. Pall Bearers will be James Lee Bradley, Delaney Neal Bradley, Bradley Wade Griggs, Jim McCord, Wade Strand, James Garrett Bradley, and Phillip Garland Griggs. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Quay Cemetery, south of Tucumcari, NM.
The family suggests for those who wish, donations may be made to the Quay County 4-H Council in loving memory of Nealene Bradley.
