Funeral services for Craig Smith,73, a long time Hereford resident will be Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Reverend Kyle Streun, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford, TX.
Mr. Smith, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2015, in Amarillo, TX.
Sidney Craig Smith was born April 10, 1942, to Frank and Oleeta Davis Smith in Clovis, NM. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1960 and from Texas Tech in 1965. Craig met Mysedia Campbell and they married on December 27, 1969, in Amarillo, TX.
He was the President of First Financial Bank for 32 years. He was on the Hospital Board from 1988-1992 and in the Hereford Economic Development Corporation. He was a member of the Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce Hustlers. Craig received the Distinguished Alumni College of Agricultural Sciences Award. He received the Distinguished Service Award for Commercial Banking.
Craig retired January 28, 2003, from First Financial Bank of Hereford. On April 14, 2015, he retired from First Financial Bank Hereford Board of Directors. He was a member of the board of First Financial Bank Shares. He loved team roping. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church.
Those left to mourn is passing are his wife of 45 years, Mysedia Smith; two sons, Brad Smith and wife Cathy of Pleasanton, TX; Sean Smith and wife Christy of Canyon; one brother, Armand Smith and wife Mary Jo of Clovis; four grandchildren, Zach Smith, Cooper Smith, Cade Smith and Max Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggest memorial in Mr. Smith's name be made to First Baptist Church, 500 N Main of Hereford, TX 79045 or .
