Services: At 2 p.m. Friday memorial services will be at the Tucumcari Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2400 South Ninth St. On Nov. 19 at 2 p.m a memorial service will be held at the Royal City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Royal Camp, Wash. Susanne Christine (Peden) Yearout, 63, died at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, after a battle with cancer. Mrs. Yearout was born in Argos, Ind., to Jack L. and Christine Peden on Dec. 3, 1943. An only child, she moved with her mother to Phoenix, Ariz. She graduated from Phoenix Central High School in 1962. She then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. At BYU, she met John H. Yearout and on Sept. 1, 1964 they were married in the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple. The couple lived in Utah until he completed his college education in 1967. They moved to Chicago where John Yearout was employed by Kemper Insurance for seven years. They then moved to Moses Lake, Wash., where John Yearout worked in graphics and the couple established an arts and crafts retail store. After moving to Royal City, Wash., where they lived for 20 years, the family operated a printing and graphics business and published a weekly newspaper and an agricultural magazine. From Royal City, Mrs. Yearout, her husband and their youngest son, Matthew, moved to Tucumcari where John Yearout is director of Public Relations at Mesalands Community College. Mrs. Yearout is remembered as a person who was very giving and lived close to the teachings of Jesus Christ, her family said. At the time of her death, she was serving as first counselor to the women's auxiliary Relief Society in the Tucumcari LDS Branch. She enjoyed antiquing and gardening and loved the Christmas season. She also had a special place in her heart for all of her grandchildren, and was deeply interested in the welfare of the oldest, Tyson Blatter,who is presently serving as a missionary in the Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moscow, Russia. She is survived by her husband John H. Yearout, her mother Christine Peden of Tucumcari, her children: Karina (Therron) Blatter of Riverton, Utah, James A. (Anjanette) Yearout of Moses Lake, Wash.; Kerri (Christopher) Butler of Tum Tum, Wash., Peter A. (Dawn) Yearout of Moses Lake, Adam D. Yearout of Othello, Wash., Matthew J.P. Yearout of Tucumcari and 14 grandchildren. Mrs. Yearout's cremains will be placed in the Washington Columbia Basin area. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
