Vera Maria Cordova Obituary
Vera Maria Cordova, age 92, passed on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in Amarillo Texas. Vera was born June 6, 1926, in Sombrio New Mexico to Bernardo and Manuelita Cordova. She was an active member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari.
Vera is survived by one sister, Lala Wagnon of Farmington NM; 4 children, Frank Cordova of Lawton, Ok., Judy Martinez of Tucumcari, Evelyn Aragon & Ben of Albuquerque NM, and Jerry Cordova & Roxann of Tucumcari. Vera had 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Andalecio Cordova, Manuel Cordova, Isidro Cordova, Fred Cordova and Ismael Cordova; by sisters, Maria Maestas, Lucy Romero and Alicia Martinez.
She was a member of the Blue Army and volunteered for the Sr. Citizen's Center before she became a senior herself. She loved participating in the kitchen band, ceramics class, bingo and was honored to be the Valentine Queen for the Senior Citizens. She loved every holiday and always had her house and table at the senior center decorated to perfection.
Rosary celebrating Vera's life will be recited on Monday August 13th 2018, at 7:00 PM in the St. Anne's Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection being offered on Tuesday morning August 14, 2018, in St. Anne's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Father John Paul as Celebrant. Pall bearers will be Carlos Valverde, Chris Valverde, Glenn Cordova,Estevan Smith, Jimmy Romero and Gino Otero. Honorary Pall Bearers will be all of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
