William Sherman Creek Obituary
Funeral services for William Sherman Creek of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. on September 2, 2014, First Baptist Church, Ford Chapel with Rev. John Ballard officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
A visitation for Sherman will be held from 1p.m to 2 p.m. at the Ford Chapel.
Sherman was born June 10, 1922, in Redlake, N.M. and married his wife Felton, (who passed on June 15, 2014), August 4, 1946, they have been in the Lubbock Community since 1974. Prior to 1974, Sherman made his home in Tatum, N.M. moving his family there in 1956 and over the years operated a number of businesses: the Steak House Café, Truckers Café; he designed and built Creeks Packing Co., a custom processing plant he operated until failing health caused it to close. In 1964, using his business experience, he opened and operated Creeks Bar-B-Q until his retirement in 1974. Sherman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock and the Downtown Bible Class.
Sherman is survived by his son, Michael B Creek and family of Austin, TX; his brother, Roy Creek of Lawrence, KS, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children. 
Preceding him in death was his mother, Mary Etta Pepper (Tippie); his father, Roscoe Dennis Creek; two brothers, Rufus Creek and Gordon (Cotton) Creek; and a sister, Monte Spikes.
Arrangements were entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock, Tx.
