Ken was born January 12, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined the Navy when he was only 16 and served as a Pilot in the Korean War. He settled in San Diego, CA, and became an airline pilot for PSA and eventually retired as a Captain for U.S. Air.|
He loved to do volunteer work and started this early in life with the Boy Scouts of America. He had an explorer Scout post where he taught young people how to fly while working at PSA. Many became successful commercial airline pilots. He also taught flying to young people in Julian, Borrego and Ramona. He truly loved doing this! He was also a football and soccer coach in Julian. His last and most recent service was with the Senior Volunteer Sheriff's Patrol group in Ramona. He absolutely loved his job and all of the people he worked with.
Ken was an avid gardener and served as President of the East County Rose Society and the San Diego Iris Society.
He was a kind and fun loving man and he will be greatly missed and remembered with lots of love by everyone, especially his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Kenneth's honor on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 2pm at Bonham Bros & Stewart Mortuary Chapel in Ramona.
