James Preston Stratton

HOT SPRINGS - James Preston 'Ol' 'Jim' Stratton, 81, Hot Springs, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Black Hills Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hot Springs. He served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 11, 1950, to Nov. 8, 1952. Survivors include a son, James G. Stratton, Buffalo, Wyo.; four daughters, Sheri Coleman, Hot Springs, Teresa Christensen and Lisa Rasmussen, both of Boise, Idaho, and Suz-Ette Lewis, Newell; three brothers, Joe Stratton, Kadoka, Stanley Stratton, Oklahoma City, and Gary Stratton, Hays, Kansas; a sister, Elaine Staben, Bozeman, Mont.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife, Gloria, preceded him in death. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dan Barcus officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, at Kaycee Cemetery in Kaycee, Wyo., with the Rev. Matt Lim officiating. Memorials may be sent to 1345 Galveston Ave., Hot Springs, SD, 57747.
