Dorothy Campbell Obituary
Dorothy M. Campbell, 87, of Quincy, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Good Samaritan Home.
Born September 3, 1930 in Monroe County, Missouri, Dorothy was the daughter of Harry and Helen Hipkins Hatton. She married Robert Robertson on September 18, 1948 in Shelbina, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1982. She married Herschel Campbell on December 15, 1990 in Columbus, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2010.
Dorothy was a member of Faith Journey Christian Church. She enjoyed dancing, reading, watching T.V. and tending to her flower garden. Dorothy loved visiting with her friends and cherished the time she shared with her family.
Dorothy was employed for 25 years as a sales clerk for K-Mart and Ben Franklin until her retirement in 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hummel of Bowling Green; two sons, Larry Robertson (Cheri) of Mendon, Ill. and Gary Robertson (Jean) of Quincy; a step daughter, Barbara Walker (Robert) of Quincy; a step son, Roger Campbell (Paula) of Quincy; two step daughters in law, Mary Campbell and Barbara Campbell both of Quincy; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a son in law, Herman Hummel; two step sons, Edward Campbell and Gary Campbell; two great-grandchildren in infancy, Douglas Francis Hummel and John Louis Ruth; and her sister, LaVerne Robertson (Bill).
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. Burial was in the Shelbina Cemetery, Shelbina, Mo..
Visitation was Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Shelbina Cemetery Association.
Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
