Pauline G. Chirieleison, 84, of Reading passed away Wednesday Dec. 5, 2012, at her daughter's residence.
She was the widow of Salvatore "Sam" Chirieleison, who passed away in 2008.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosalie (Malacz-kawicz) Pokrywa.
Pauline was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading, and a lifetime member of Beneficial Society Victor Emmanuel II Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked for 22 years as a custodian for the Reading School District.
Pauline was proud to be inducted into both the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame and the Berks County Voter Hall of Fame in 2011 for "voting for fifty consecutive years without missing an election."
Her daughters survive her: Virginia R. (Chirie-leison) Merkel of Spring Township and Debra Ann (Chirieleison), wife of John Golembiewski, of Oley; three grandchildren: Gregory Merkel, Michelle Hun-sicker and Steven Merkel; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Paisley; and a brother, Edward Pokrywa.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin St., Reading, PA 19602. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery in the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family on Sunday evening, Dec. 9, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Henninger Funeral Home Inc. 229 N. 5th St. Reading, Pa 19601.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that contributions be made in Pauline's memory to American Heart Association, 212 East Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. For online condolences, please visit www.henningerfuneralhome.com.
