Graser Sr., William - Reading  
William T. Graser Sr., 90, of West Reading, passed away peacefully at his home on June 22, 2016. He was the husband of the late Betty Jean (Gilbert) Graser. Born in Allentown, Pa., on April 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Tho mas and Mary (Smith) Graser. Mr. Graser was employed as a supervisor at the former Polymer Corp. in Reading for 32 years. After retiring, he was the owner and operator of Glassmyer's Luncheonette in Lititz for 5 years. He was a loving husband, proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed art, restoring antiques, reading and his dogs. A U.S. Army veteran, William served in the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart in 1950. He was a member of the West Lawn Lions Club and the American Legion VFW. Mr. Graser was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Reading, serving as a Deacon and Elder for 7 years. Surviving are a son, William T. Graser Jr.; and a daughter, Patricia G., wife of Mark T. Phillips, of Reading; six grandchildren: Krista Prock, wife of Andy; Lauren LaRue, wife of Trey; James Graser, husband of Kelly; Thomas Phillips, husband of Amanda; Morgan Phillips, fiancée of Jaron; and Nicholas Phillips; three great-grandchildren: Margaret Prock, Emily Prock and Jacob Graser; and a sister, Lillian (Kusteker), of Kutztown. Mr. Graser was predeceased by a sister, Florence (Fleming), and a brother, Eugene Graser. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery. Greely, Brian - Honey Brook  
Brian T. Greely, age 38, of Reading, passed away Tuesday evening in the St. Joseph Hospital with his loving parents and family members at his bedside. Born in Reading, he was the loving son of Thomas and Krista Gabel Greely. Brian was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. He was last employed has a concrete cutter. In life, he enjoyed fishing and loved to go crabbing. He was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his loving parents, he leaves behind a daughter, Haley; a brother, Gregg, husband of Catrina Greely; his loving grandmother, Loretta Greely; several aunts and uncles and cousins; loving niece, Zoie. Services are being held privately by Brian's family and ask that contributions be made in his memory to the Animal Rescue League of Berks Co., P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540. Betty J. Gahres, 92, of Myerstown, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown. She was the wife of Charles A. Gahres, who died January 29, 1983. Born in Bear Gap, Pa., on July 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Margaret (Dudy) Osman. A member of Grace UCC, Mount Carmel, she was a graduate of Mount Carmel Twp. High School. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Weidenheimer, of Myerstown; sons: Charles Jr., husband of Julie Gahres, of West Lawn; Robert Bowers, of Danville; August Ewer, of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Kenneth Weidenheimer Jr. and Jill Schott; great-grandchildren: Reiley Weidenheimer, Darren Schott II, Dallas Schott and Jaycee Schott; a sister, Peggy, wife of Albert Kushnerick, of Honey Brook; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters: Florence, Ruth, Dorothy and Deanna. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Jeff Guiles, 60, of Reading, passed away Wed., June 22, 2016, at his residence. Born in Reading, he was a son of Nancy (Hopp) and the late Gerald E. Guiles. Guida, Constance (Helson) - Reading  
Constance Marie (Helson) Guida, age 92, known to her friends as Connie, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 18, 2016, at her residence at the Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg. She is survived by her son, Richard L. Guida, his wife, Lisa A. Guida, both of Spring Township, and a grandson, Anthony L. Guida, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Her daughter, Jacqueline R. Guida, predeceased her in 2008. She was born on February 29, 1924, in Enola, Pa., the daughter of the late Gilbert and Christiana Helson. She graduated from the Enola High School in 1942 and immediately became one of the first mechanical artists for the Bell Telephone company of Pennsylvania, creating blueprints and wiring diagrams. While at Bell Telephone, she became a high kick chorus line dancer for a volunteer entertainment organization of women who performed shows for military personnel preparing to deploy to Europe or the Pacific. In late 1942, while performing onstage at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, she met a young Army private by the name of Leon A. Guida, who was playing the saxophone in an Army special services band. They were married in 1946 and remained married for 62 years until his death in 2008. Her ashes will be buried next to her husband's at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, located about one mile from the stage where they met. As it began, so it ends. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Theo C. Auman Funeral Home of Reading is in charge of the arrangements.

Gamler, Russell - Pottstown  
Russell A. Gamler, 76, of Boyertown, husband of Janice I. (Scheetz) Gamler, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Oley, he was the son of the late Amandus and Catherine (Geisler) Gamler. Russell began working at the Boyertown Body Works after graduating high school until the business closed. After retiring, he worked part time for Moyer's Catering. Russ coached little league for Boyertown for many years and ran the refreshment stand at Boyertown Park. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving, along with his wife, is one daughter, Karen Soffa, wife of Todd, of Bechtelsville; one son, Dean Gamler, husband of Liz, of Barto; three step-sons: Randy Oppelt, husband of Denise, of Douglassville; Michael Oppelt, husband of Lisa, of Boyertown; and Ronald Oppelt, of Boyertown; daughter-in-law, Dawn Gamler; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Erma Scheetz; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Scheetz and John Sweitzer; and two sisters, Geraldine Gamler, of Oley, and Fern Moyer, wife of Paul, of Oley. Along with his parents, Russell was predeceased by his son, Craig Gamler, and his sister, Catherine Sweitzer. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, with Rev. Dr. Bob Machamer officiating. Burial will follow at Huff's Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Gardner, George - Reading  
George J. Gardner, 83, of Exeter Township, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2016, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara (Gannon) Gardner. Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late George and Esther (Storr) Gardner. George was a graduate of Scranton High School in 1952 and was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. George was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, South End Gun Club, Reading Liederkrantz, a board member of the Crestwood Pool and past president of University Gun Club. He especially loved spending time with his family as well as hunting, fishing in Canada and trap shooting. George was a communication technician for AT&T for 33 years until his retirement. In addition to his wife, George is survived by one son, Paul J. Gardner, husband of Sherry, of Stonersville; and one daughter, Mary Beth Gardner, of St. Lawrence; five grandchildren: Paul Michael, Patrick, Jessica, Alyssa and Laura; and one nephew, Scott Shuler. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Shuler. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606. Services and Interment private.
