Lape, Nancy - Wernersville  
Nancy Lape, 75, of Reading, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia. She was the wife of William H. Lape, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage on May 18th. Born in Myerstown, she was a daughter of the late David Kurtz and Pearl (Anspach) Marks. She was a member of Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church. She had worked for several years as a medical secretary for Dr. Herman Kotzen and also Dr. Mohn and Dr. Rule at Shillington Eye Associates. She was also a floral designer for Davis, Royers, and the former Ernst Florist. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jane E., wife of Ronald Martin, Texas and most recently Singapore, and Susan L., wife of Michael Stone, Lancaster; two brothers, Dr. Ronald Marks and Andrew Kurtz; three sisters: Sandra Kauffman, Deb Johnson and Susie Kurtz; and four grandchildren: Emily and Kathryn Martin, and Megan and Will Stone. She was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet Dautrich. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, at Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church, 1 Carlisle Ave., Reading, with her pastor, the Rev. David McMillan officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville. Lash, Wayne - West Reading  
Wayne Lash, 57, of Wyomissing, passed away July 19, 2016, in Asheville, N.C. Born in Reading, he was a son of Sylvia (Monde) Lash, Wyomissing, and the late Norman Lash. He was the husband of Theresa Michele (Coughlin) Lash, whom he married on June 13, 1988. Wayne was a graduate of Wyomissing High School where he was a standout basketball player. He attended Franklin and Marshall College as well as Penn State University. He served in the United States Navy and was a nuclear reactor operator on the U.S.S. Bainbridge. Wayne was employed by Eaton Corporation as a lead electrical engineer. In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by two children, Skyler Cameron Lash and Dakota Killian Lash; six dogs; three brothers: Honorable Judge Scott E. Lash, Cumru Township; Brian E., husband of Melisa Lash, Shillington; Clark E., husband of Tracy Lash, Leola; and one sister, Roxanne E., wife of Daniel Deeds, Mohnton. Seven nephews; four nieces; two great-nephews and two great-nieces also survive him. Wayne played basketball for the GSB and Adams Chemical in West Reading Summer Basketball League. He played for Lower Alsace FC in the 35 and over league as well as Doug Young Builders in the Mifflin League. He also played in the Pike Basketball League and several other leagues. Wayne coached youth basketball in the Wyomissing Area Basketball Association League. He was a wonderful, loving husband and magnificent father. We cannot imagine life without him. Thank you for everything you've done for us. Wayne has formulated the men that our sons have become today through his stellar guidance and hands-on approach, and by setting an exemplary work ethic. Lockhart, Diane - Reading  
Diane Lockhart, 65, of Laureldale, Pa., passed away July 23, 2016, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Laureldale. Born on December 10, 1950, she was the daughter of Robert Newton and Virginia Lockhart. Diane worked as beautician most of her life and loved beautifying others in addition to working at the historic Luden's Candy Company, Izod and Essick & Barr Insurance Company. She was a standing member of Spring Valley Church of God in Temple, Pa., where she shared her love of music by singing in the church choir. Her favorite pastime was playing melodies on her keyboard. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Annette Lee (Gregory), Andrea Lockhart, Candy Mincy (Adolf) and Cecil Lockhart (Chandra); siblings: Zetta Lucas (Barry), Robert Jackson, Albert Brown and Nicholle Jackson (Anthony); 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. Long, Rosanna (Miller) - Birdsboro  
Rosanna Julia (Miller) Long, 96, of Hershey, Pa., formerly of Geigertown, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. Born March 12, 1920, in West Nantmeal Twp., Chester Co., Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Miller and Lidie (Wells) Miller. She was the wife of the late J. Richard Long, who died in 1980. Rosanna graduated from Mc Cann's Business School and went to work as a payroll secretary for Daniel Boone Area School District until she retired in 1990. She was a member of St. Paul's UM Church, Geigertown, where she taught Sunday school, was a Choir Director and involved in the United Methodist Woman's Group and the Asbury Bible Class. In addition, she was a member of the O.E.S. Bird Chapter #460, Help Line, TWEAD, American Legion, Birdsboro Woman's Club and Ladies Auxiliary, Birdsboro, Pa. Surviving are: son, Samuel R., husband of Sarah Long, of Lake Forest, Ill.; daughters, Ann M., wife of Raymond F. Swisher, of Birdsboro, Pa., and Mary Beth, wife of John Miele, of Harrisburg, Pa.; 3 grandchildren: Scott M. Swisher, Jamie L. (Swisher) Brown and Samuel M. Long; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon J. Swisher and Brooks R. Swisher. She was predeceased by sister, Marie Fick, and brother, Harold "Buss" Miller. A viewing for Rosanna will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at St. Paul's UM Church, Geigertown Road, Union Twp., Berks Co., Pa. (1136 Geigertown Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508) followed by an Eastern Star Service and Funeral Service Ceremony. Interment will be at the United Methodist Church Cemetery, Geigertown Road, Union Twp., Berks Co., Pa. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul's United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
