Beam, Edith (Seifert) - Oley  
Edith Beam, 87, formerly of Reading, passed away March 23, 2015, in Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Lewis Richard Beam, who died September 28, 1998. Born July 15, 1927, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Lizzie (Phillips) Seifert. She worked for Luden's Candy Company for over 45 years and also worked for Youngie's Fairside Inn for over 20 years. She made a lot of friends at both companies. She was a hard worker and had fun going to work every day. Edith enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery. She is survived by her son, Samuel L., husband of Linda J. Beam of Ruscombmanor Township, and her daughter, Dorothy L. Lincoln of Mt. Penn. Also surviving are her three siblings: Paul Seifert of Montgomery County, William Seifert of Reading and Betty Worley of Mohnton. There are also three grandchildren surviving: Michael D., husband of Robyn Beam, Kristin L., wife of Fred Ellzy and Amy L., wife of Daren Anders and six great-grandchildren: Katie, Aidan, Lizzie, Collin, Eva and Lincoln. Edith was predeceased by her siblings: Francis Seifert, Harry Seifert, Daniel Seifert, Raymond Seifert, Mary Ziegler, Dorothy Dice, Tillie Greth, Mabel Foster, Florence Bergman and Katie Fetter. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Bieber, Creighton - West Reading  
Creighton Thomas Daly Bieber, 22, of Wyomissing, died March 30, 2015. Born in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of Thomas P. Bieber and Mary E. Daly, brother of Madeline D. Bieber, with whom he resided. He was a graduate of Wyomissing High School in 2011, where he excelled in sports, running track and cross country, successfully competing in the state meets of both sports; he was also a standout swimmer for the high school swim team. Creighton was awarded the Karl Hemmerich award for his athletic achievements his senior year at Wyomissing. A Word Master, Creighton went on to study and pursue a Classics degree at Temple University, where he was in his fourth year. Creighton taught swimming lessons and was a lifeguard at the Wyomissing Pool. Always a sharp dresser, and voted the best dressed his senior year at Wyomissing, Creighton thoroughly enjoyed working in a gallery/boutique last summer in Edgartown, MA (a small town on Martha's Vineyard). His family and friends will miss his great wit and entertaining personality. In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Sandra Bieber, Wyomissing; and his paternal grandfather, Michael, husband of Judy Bieber, Wernersville. He was adored by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Daly and Judith Daly Nally; his uncle, Patrick Daly; and great-aunt, Barbara Rodrock, affectionately known as "GAB," who lived with Creighton and his family. A visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Blatt, Janeen - Sinking Spring  
Janeen Elizabeth Blatt, 44, of Sinking Spring, passed away with her loved ones at her side in the Reading Hospital on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Born in Millville, NJ on April 19, 1970, Janeen was a daughter of A. Paul and Sherrie (Ritchey) Blatt. Janeen attended the Adult Day Program at Prospectus Berco and was known by everyone there as a happy jokester. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. Janeen loved Disney and Mickey Mouse was her favorite character. Surviving are her parents, A. Paul and Sherrie (Ritchey) Blatt of Connellsville, a sister, Rhonda Blatt and nephew, Brian Blatt also of Connellsville. Also surviving is her large and caring extended family at Prospectus Berco. A funeral service for Janeen will be at 11 a.m. on April Fool's Day, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Theo C. Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Janeen will be laid to rest in Blair Memorial Park, Altoona. Bollinger, Toni - Reading  
Toni Bollinger, 88, of Sinking Spring, passed away in the home of her daughter on March 27, 2015, surrounded by her family. Born Toni Reinwald in Koenigsberg, East Prussia, in 1926, she lived in Hanau, Germany, for 15 years where she met and married David Bollinger and moved to Reading, PA in 1959. She was predeceased by her husband, David Bollinger, who passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She is survived by her son, Manfred Bleiker, companion of Bay Seese of Temple; and daughter, Marlene Miller, wife of Gene of Wyomissing; grandchildren: Monica Allen, wife of Danny of Wernersville; and Michelle Esterbrook, wife of Eric of Wyomissing; great-grandchildren: Emma, Anton, Eli and Eric Esterbrook; and Olivia, Anna and Alexander Allen. Briaka, Louise (Zelano) - Reading  
LOUISE MAE (ZELANO) BRIAKA, 104 , of Reading, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Berks Heim, where she was the oldest resident. She previously resided at Manor at Market Square, and was the widow of Charles Briaka, who predeceased her January 15, 1998. Born in Corinth, West Virginia, July 9, 1910, a daughter of Alcinda (Crosco) and Vito Zelano, Louise, or as many knew her, "Mrs. Chubby," was the owner/operator of Chubby's Italian Sandwich Shop along with her husband, Charles "Chubby." at 320 Penn Street, for many, many years. The store was originally known as the Italian American Grocery Store, owned by her father and uncle. Louise was a member of Holy Rosary RCC and was formerly employed at Reading Clothing and Oritzky's and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of G.A.R., participating in many parades on Penn Street. She loved playing bingo, and lived by the words of her mother, "if you can't have fun, stay home!" She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and goddaughter, Doris Rapp, along with her guardians, Fred and Karen Moreadith. Louise was also predeceased by her grandson, Larry Lendo and siblings: Joy Fundyga, Mary Marello, Elvira Cress, John Zelano, Phil Zelano, Pete Zelano and Anthony Zelano. A special thank you to Berks Heim, especially A1 Nursing, the staff at Manor at Market Square and the Office of Aging. Viewing to be held on Friday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Theo C. Brown, Delores (Hamilton) - Reading  
Delores I. (Hamilton) Brown, 74, of Reading, passed March 21, 2015, in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township. Born in Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Authur Hamilton and Edith E. Gayle. She was a certified nurse assistant. She is survived by six children, sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, one aunt and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4th at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church of God, Reading. Viewing will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Laureldale Cemetery. Burkert, Frances (Henry) - Hamburg  
Frances E. Burkert, 81, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. She was the wife of Walter L. Burkert, who died April 30, 1996. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. Henry and Emma L. (Meyer) Henry Marko. Frances worked at the Globe Underwear Company, March Sportswear and retired from Wright's Knitting Mill in 1997. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Shoemakersville Fire Company. Frances is survived by one daughter, Mary L. (Shenk), wife of Keith Henn, Tilden Twp.; one son, David R. Burkert, Auburn; two granddaughters, Marcia Slimmer, wife of Richard, Fleetwood, and Krystle Konsavage, wife of John, Deer Lake; one great-granddaughter, Jenaliez Henn; and four step-children. She is also survived by two brothers, Lester F. Henry and Stephen Marko, both of Shoemakersville; and two sisters, Evelyn (Henry) Powers, New Richmond, Wisconsin; and Janice (Henry) Struempfler, Jamison, PA. Frances was predeceased by one sister, Sandra (Henry) Calnan and one step-son. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear).
