Garman, Michael - Reading  
Michael John Garman, 79, passed away September 23, 2016, in his South Heidelberg residence. His wife, Dolores M. (Hoffa) Garman, passed away in 2007. Michael was born in Reading on December 11, 1936, a son of the late Samuel and Anna (Davies) Garman. He was a Marine Corp veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era and was employed by Reading Sheet Metal as a shop superintendent for over 40 years, retiring there. Michael was also employed by UPS for 10 years. He was a Scout Master for Troop #124 Laureldale, National Scout Master for National Jamboree in 1988, commandant of Marine Corp League and volunteered for Toys for Tots on a yearly basis. Michael is survived by his 2 sons, John M. and his wife, Debra Garman, of Sinking Spring, Robert J. and his wife, Cheryl Garman, of Carlisle, Pa.; his 2 brothers, Samuel and his wife, Nancy Garman, of Manassas, Va., Edwin and his wife, Pearl Garman, of Wernersville; his sister, Gloria Phillips, of Reading; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Garman; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Michael was predeceased by his son, Michael James Garman, and his brother, Paul Garman. Services and burial are private at the convenience of the family. Gerfin, Dorris Kline - Reading  
Dorris Kline Gerfin quietly passed away at 9 a.m. on 9 September at Azalea Estates Assisted Living Apartments, in Slidell, La. She was born on 19 March 1923, in Columbia, Lancaster County, Pa. graduated from Columbia High School in 1940 and married Andrew Lotz Gerfin (deceased) of Columbia, Pa., on 8 August 1943. Dorris worked as an executive secretary for physicians in Wilmington, Del., and Altoona, Pa., in addition to a Vice President at Koppers Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa., prior to moving to the Reading area, where she served as an Administrative Assistant at Berks County Vocational Institute for 5 years. She retired March 1983. Dorris was a member of the Adult Choir and served as a Communion Assistant, as well as the Treasurer of the Women of Atonement Lutheran Church. She was a member of Golden Rule Chapter 390, Order of Eastern Star. Her father was Chloral (Hal) Kline and mother Dora Sowers, both of Columbia, Pa. Dorris is survived by her sister, Ferne K. Simpson, of Palm Desert, Calif., and her two sons, Captain Andrew L. Gerfin Jr. USCG (retired) of Picayune, Miss., and Commander Mark K. Gerfin USN (retired) of Wake Forest, N.C., and their respective families. She was predeceased (this year) by her sister, June K. Szabo, of Lancaster, Pa. Internment and memorial services will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, Pa., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 1 October. Graham, Jan - Phoenixville  
Jan Richard Graham, age 58, husband of the late Joyce M. (Romania) Graham, of Spring City, Pa., died Thursday, September 8, 2016 in his home. Born on May 16, 1958 in Phoenixville, Pa., he was a son of the late Harry and Marion (Funk) Graham. He was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. He graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Surgical Technology. Mr. Graham worked as a Material Manager for Pottstown and Reading Hospitals. He was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Phoenixville, Pa. Jan and Joyce were animal lovers, especially fond of their cats, and avid travelers who enjoyed many trips to Europe together. Mr. Graham is survived by two brothers, Mark, husband of Betsy Graham, Ronald M., husband of Lyn Graham, of Phoenixville, Pa.; nieces: Darrah Leffler, Whitney Graham, Dr. Devyn Graham, Lauren Romania and Siena Romania; nephews, Taylor Graham, Cory Graham, Samuel Romania III, Dominic Romania and John Romania. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pa., on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Burial will be held in the St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, Pa. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m., Saturday, at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, Pa. Greth, June Lynne (Yocom) - Reading  
June Lynne (Yocom) Greth, 97, formerly of Reading and Shillington, passed away peacefully in Hearthstone at Amity on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, where she resided for almost 2 years. She was the loving wife of the late Walter I. Greth for 42 years until his death in August of 1984. Born in Reading on February 15, 1919, June was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Ruth (Eaches) Yocom. She was a faithful member of Immanuel United Church of Christ while living in Shillington and of St. Thomas United Church of Christ while living in Reading, serving on the church Finance Committee from 1996 to 1999. June was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School. She then attended Albright College and in 1940, received her Baccalaureate in Home Economics. After graduation, June worked for Consumers Gas as the Home Service Director until 1942. It was important to June that she dedicate her life to community service. She worked toward this by serving as president of the Women's Club of Reading from 1987 to 1988 and the Soroptimist Club of Reading. June was also a former board member of the Berks County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; a life member of the Board of Directors of the Berks Visiting Nurse Association; held a forefather membership with the Swedish Colonial Society of Philadelphia; and was a 30-year volunteer for the Berks County United Way campaign. June was also a devoted mother who cherished her relationship with her son, Dr. David L. Greth, until his death in July of 2014. She was an amazing and unforgettable person whose sparkling personality and fascinating stories brightened the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Surviving June is her granddaughter, Kristin Greth, of Ohio, and a host of friends. Services for June are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place within the Charles Evans Cemetery Chapel Columbarium. Arrangements are entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home in Reading's Centre Park Historic District, 625 N. 4th St. at Centre Ave. (Route 61), Reading, PA 19601.
