Harakal, Jane (O'Malley) - Topton  
Jane M. (O'Malley) Harakal, RN, CCRN, 32, of Topton, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was the wife of Matthew D. Harakal. They were married January 14, 2006. Born in Darby, Delaware County, she was a daughter of James W. Jr., and Jane M. (Thomas) O'Malley of Exeter Township. Jane was a member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown. She was a 2000 graduate of Interboro High School, Prospect Park, Delaware County, where she excelled in cross-country running; and a 2004 graduate of Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She was also a member of the women's rugby team while attending Bloomsburg University. Jane was employed as a Critical Care Registered Nurse by Saint Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, for 10 years, where she worked in the Intensive Care Unit, last working Friday. A loving and devoted mother, Jane enjoyed spending time with her husband, sons, and her entire family. She also enjoyed reading and writing. Survivors: husband; parents; sons, Jack M. Harakal, age 5 and Benjamin R. Harakal, age 3, both at home; sisters, Patricia M. (O'Malley), wife of John M. Powers, Douglassville; and Megan K. (O'Malley), wife of Scott M. Moyer, Green Lane, Montgomery Co.; brothers, James W. III, husband of Jeanmarie (Dix) O'Malley, Willow Grove, Montgomery Co.; and Thomas J. O'Malley, Clermont, FL. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with Rev. Monsignor Walter T. Scheaffer, celebrant. Inurnment will be private in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown; and Wednesday morning from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. in the church. Harting, Howard - Wernersville

Hartman, Phyllis (Mohan) - Hamburg  
Phyllis E. Hartman, 84, of Hamburg died November 19th, 2014 in her residence. She was the widow of George W. Hartman, who died January 5th, 1996. She was born in West Hamburg and was the daughter of the late Russell and Arlene (Ritter) Mohan. Phyllis was a 1947 graduate of Hamburg High School. Phyllis was employed by the Hamburg Center for 19 years, the last seven as the Executive Secretary for the Director of the Center. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg, and a former member of the Hamburg B.P.W. Phyllis is survived be one son, Thomas M. of Sinking Spring; one daughter, Lori McNeil, companion of Paul M. Newman, Hamburg; and eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elizabeth. Her devoted caregiver also survives her. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg. Heffner, Jacob - Fleetwood  
Jacob Joseph "Jake" Heffner, 21, of Richmond Township, died Thursday, November, 20, 2014 at home. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of Joseph L. and Debra L. (Reinert) Heffner, of Richmond Township. Jake was a member of the Class of 2012 of Fleetwood Area High School. He had previously worked for Rockland Embroidery, Topton, and Kutztown Tavern, Kutztown. Jake loved skateboarding and really enjoyed the outdoors. He was especially fond of hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Jake was an avid quoits player and most of all, enjoyed the many nights sitting around the fire pit at home with family and great friends, especially on clear nights where he could see the moon. Most of all, Jake loved animals. One of his favorite things in life was spending time with his beloved pets: Stanley, Harry, Oli and Stella. In addition to his parents, Jake is survived by his sister, Emily E. Heffner, fiancée of Philip Smith, Richmond Township; his maternal grandparents, Shirley A. (Bower) and Donald R. Reinert, Mertztown; his paternal grandmother, Erminia L. "Mimi" (DeRentiis) Heffner, Topton; his aunts and uncles, Raeanne and James Roth, Kutztown, and Jeffrey and Ruby Heffner, Fleetwood. Jake is also survived by his cousins: Alyssa Roth, Ryan Roth and Nicolette Heffner. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lee H. Heffner in May 2005. Memorial services for Jake will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 8 p.m. at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd., Fleetwood, with the Rev. Dr. Robert D. Machamer Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Huber, Henry - Reading  
Henry J. Huber, 92, of Reading, passed away on November 13, 2014 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Jacques and Alice E. (Giauque) Huber. Mr. Huber received a scholarship to New York University, where he graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to become a distinguished engineer at General Electric, Western Electric, and BMY. In addition, Henry was a partner in a startup company, United States Research Corporation. He holds several United States patents. Henry enjoyed bowling, golf, bridge, the shore, and social events with his wife and friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Alice B. Frey. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth M. Huber of Reading; beloved children: Darrell W. Huber of Whitfield and Maureen F. Huber of Reading; precious grandchildren, Paige E. Huber and Madison R. Huber. A memorial service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Henry's honor to the American Heart Association, 212 E.
