Joshua Harold Copp, 35, of rural South Whit-ley, died early Monday morning, April 14, 2014 due to natural causes. He was born July 2, 1978 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of Jeffrey O. and Connie R. (Johnson) Copp. In 1979 his family moved to Osceola, Indiana, from Oakbrook, Illinois. In 1985 the family moved to Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Tulpehocken High School in Bernville, where he played soccer and basketball. In 1998 he returned to Indiana to live in Columbia City. On October 6, 2001 he was united in marriage to Anna R. Siegrist. They made their home in rural Columbia City until moving to their present home on April 14, 2009. In addition to livestock farming, he was a very talented musician. He established the bands High Moon, Huckleberry Blue and Blue Bird Revival, of which he was the lead singer and played various instruments. Columbia City Church of the Brethren was his church of membership. Surviving relatives include his wife, Anna; a son, Jeffrey Robert Copp, at home; his parents, Jeff and Connie Copp of Columbia City; three siblings: Miriam (Michael) Copp Johnson of Philadelphia PA; Charles (Amelia) Copp of Decatur GA; and Peter (Kate) Copp of Columbia City; and his in-laws, Bob and Sandy Siegrist of Columbia City; Jonathan Siegrist of Columbus, OH; David Siegrist of Valparaiso; and Deborah Wolf of Syracuse. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Columbia City United Methodist Church, 605 Forest Parkway, with visitation after 1 p.m. Friday at the church. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Mary Jane "Janie" (Leininger) Fritz, 72, of Cumru Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of William Fritz. Born in Cumru Twp., PA, she was a daughter of the late Harvey A. and Mabel (Daub) Leininger. Mary Jane was a member of Christ Yocom Lutheran Church in Grill. She was born raised and lived her entire life on the family farm in Cumru Twp. She loved working in her garden and with her flowers and feeding the birds and animals but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband is children: Cynthia, wife of Bruce Pierce of Nancy, KY; Rebecca, wife of Edward Cooper of Ten Sleep, WY; Kathy, wife of Ronnie Graddy of Rutledge, AL; Sandra, wife of David Miller of Mohnton; Peggy, wife of Craig Foster of Hamburg; Sheri, wife of Michael Kaufman of Mohnton; Kurt Fritz, husband of Wendy Douglass of Leola; and stepsons, Keith, husband of Nancy Fritz of Mohnton; and William, husband of Donna Fritz of Flying Hills. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Margaret Tironi of Mechanicville, NY; Ray Leininger of Grill; and Earl Leininger of Mohnton. She was predeceased by an infant son, Steven and four siblings: Harry, Charles, and Virginia "Ginny" Leininger, and Henry Mountz. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 21 Chestnut Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Harry Goos, officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Christ Union Cemetery, Grill. John R. Gallagher, 81, of Exeter Township, passed away on Friday, April 11th in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Sara E. (Heilman) Gallagher, his wife of 57 years. Born on February 1, 1933 in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late John Gallagher and Marie (Huber) Gallagher. John was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his only daughter, Terri L. (Gallagher) Ruoff, wife of James C. Ruoff, of Exeter Township, and his grandson, Cole Ruoff (sophomore at Temple University) and granddaughter, Rayne Ruoff (junior at Exeter Township High School) who were his pride and joy. Family was the most important part of John's life, which revolved around spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying their summers spent in Ocean City, New Jersey. John is also survived by his siblings: Gerald Gallagher and his wife Burgle of Florida; Judith Ott and her husband Richard of Reading, PA, and Jean Moll and her husband Jack of Oley, PA. John was a graduate of Reading High in 1950, an Air Force veteran of 4 years, and he received his Bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in 1957. He received his Master's degree from Temple University and a second Master's degree from University of Utah. He was a teacher at Governor Mifflin for 35 years, where he coached basketball and football. He also enjoyed teaching evening classes at Reading High and Alvernia University. In 1983, John received the Chamber of Commerce Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Private System through Education. He was a lifetime Philadelphia Phillies fan and an avid reader. John will be remembered and cherished by his family as a loving, loyal, generous and kind husband, father, and grandfather. His kindness touched all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.
