David was a 1972 graduate of Reading High School. He was also a graduate of Berks Technical Institute, where he earned an associate's degree in applied science.
He was employed for 29 ½ years with Penn Optical as a machine operator and delivery driver, retiring in 2002, where he was union President for the local Penn Optical Employees for many years.
Dave was a life member of the Ivy Leaf Association,
Reading. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid Eagles fan. Dave was also a member of the Rajah Shriners, Blandon.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three daughters: Crystal, wife of Rob M. Blessing of Spring Township; Tina M., wife of L.A. Jones of Reading; and Lori A. Pflum of Cumru Township; his daughter-in-law, Catherine A. Fryberger of Cumru Township; his brother, Edward R., husband of Brenda Breneiser of Exeter Township; and his brother-in-law, Gerald A. Bender Sr.
Other survivors include his six grandchildren: Tyler, Jaycob, Robbie, Ayden, Brandon and Michael; his special niece, Alexus Grande; and a special friend, Brian Gilbert.
There are also many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews surviving.
Dave will be sadly missed by his faithful companion, Jazz.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
