Born in Manayunk, PA, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Kozak) Basara.
Sister Adorata entered the Bernardine Order on February 1, 1947 and was in her 66th year of religious life. Sister earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Records from Mt. Carmel Mercy, Detroit, MI. She served her ministry in Pennsylvania and Virginia as a teacher, medical records, librarian and superior.
Sister is survived by her sister, Anna Marie Rameneuskas, Mount Laurel, NJ; her nephew, Dr. Matthew Basara of Delran, NJ; and her niece, Diane Lamsback of Marlton, NJ. Sister was preceded in death by her sister, Sister Placidia Basara, also a Bernardine Franciscan Sister.
A viewing will be held at St. Joseph Villa, Reading, PA on Monday, April 22, 2013, after 2:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel, Mt. Alvernia, Reading, PA, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters cemetery, Mt. Alvernia.
