2003. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Frantz) Crammer. She was a graduate of Robesonia High School.
Betty was employed at the Berkshire Knitting Mill, Glidden Paints, the Gloray Knitting Mill, Columbia Minerva Knitting Mill, and retired in 2002 from the Reading Berks Auto Club as a Travel Consultant. She was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church.
She is survived by three sons, Jamie A. Yoder, Oakwood, VA; George A. Yoder and his wife Ann, Sinking Spring; and Robert J. Yoder, Crete, IL; two daughters, Karen A. wife of Stanley Deeds, Blandon; and Beverly J. wife of Michael Packard, Reading; four brothers, George, Harry, Vernon, and Gerald Crammer; seven sisters, Dorothy Moyer, Jeanette Nyles, Laura Schnee, Hildegarde Roche, Myrle Landis, Patricia Clouser, and Gloria Crammer; ten grandchildren, Gary Deeds, Michael Deeds, Joshua Henry, Rachel Henry, Tracy Yoder Chittenden, Heather Krill, Jennifer Yoder, Rebecca Yoder, Katie Yoder, and Amy Yoder; and eight great grandchildren, Christopher Deeds, Mason Deeds, Madison Deeds, Toxey Krill, Olivia Yoder, Brandon Moyer, Lily Grace Chittenden, and Emmerson Shaw Henry. She was also predeceased by a sister, Sara DiSalvo.
Wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to so many, Betty lived a life filled with family, friends, church activities and work. Though she lived at the Topton Home for the last nine years of her life due to a stroke, she remained as active as she could, often leaving the Home for special family occasions and holidays. She served as President for a year on the Resident's Council and never tired of getting to know the staff and residents. She had a great sense of humor and often brightened their days with her jokes. The staff at Topton found it a pleasure to care for her, and she counted many of them as dear friends. The family expresses gratitude to the staff for their excellent care of Betty.
Betty loved to read, often reading six books a week that she loaned from the library. She enjoyed watching favorite tv channels and her favorite movies on DVD. She conversed on many topics and kept up to date on the news. Her keen observations about people, politics, and the state of the world in general never came as a surprise to those who knew her well. Betty's passing leaves a huge hole in a family circle who love her dearly and will always be sustained by the support and loving encouragement she gave so freely, her exemplary faith in God, along with her smile and especially her laugh.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Inc., Wernersville, with Rev. Dr. Robert Sloan officiating. Friends are invited to call Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery.
