He was born April 25, 1947, to Oliver Paul Worley and Margaret Groff Worley of Mohnton.
Mr. Worley was noted for his service to the community, most notably the Governor Mifflin School Board. First elected in 1978, he was re-elected and continued to serve on that school board for 34 years, retiring in December 2011. He was honored for his years of service by Pennsylvania's governor, by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and by the school district. During these many years, he also served as Board President, Vice President and Chair of several committees. He was also selected as Governor Mifflin's representative to the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) and served in that capacity for most of his years as Governor Mifflin board member.
In addition to the school district, Mr. Worley was also a board member of TASC, the Treatment Access & Services Center of Berks County, and a member of the COCA board, the Council on Chemical Abuse.
A lifelong resident of Berks County, Mr. Worley graduated from Governor Mifflin High School as Valedictorian of his class in 1965. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969, ma-joring in English, and continued with graduate work in English, pursuing a Master's degree at the University of Delaware.
He was first employed by Sterling Drug Company in Myerstown, then the Human Resources Department at The Reading Hospital & Medical Center for his expertise in health and medical insurance. Subsequently he was employed at Gallen Insurance, before opening his own offices in West Reading. He retired in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Baker Worley, a professor at the University of Delaware, whom he married in June of 1973.
Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Saturday 1 to 2 p.m.

My deepest sympathy to your family, Brent was very kind, always had a smile on his face, and very easy to talk to about any subject including Governor Mifflin football, he was very respected from all of us here at TASC. He will be very sadly missed by all.

This is a shocker! I haven't seen Brent in quite a few years, we were very close friends beginning in fifth grade at Mohnton Elementary School all the way through the junior high and high school years at Governor Mifflin. He was a great friend and classmate. We shared a lot of laughs over the years and continued the friendship after graduating from high school and college. He was an incredibly dedicated member of the Governor Mifflin School Board, serving as president for many years. My sincerest sympathies to Becky, I know how close you were to Brent.

So sorry to hear of Brent's passing. Having worked with him for over 11 years while with the Berks County Intermediate Unit, I know that he will be sorely missed -- especially by the students and families of Berks County.

Sorry to read about Brent. We had many great years on the Board and a true friend. Unfortunately I'm out of town and will not be able to attend his service.

Sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Brent on the BCIU board and was impressed first by his warm welcome to the board when I initially joined, then by his wisdom during the conduct of the board's business, and finally by his courage in facing his medical problems during the past few years. The children of Berks have lost a true advocate and the people of the county a dedicated public servant. He will be missed.
