Clarence J. "Gabe" Prigmore, 93, died peacefully at his home in Collins, Mo., on August 18, 2018. He is predeceased by his wife, Elena, and son, James.

Gabe was born in Joplin, Mo. He enlisted in the Navy at 18 and served as a corpsman on the USS Solace and Palau, hospital ships. Thereafter, he joined the Army where he

excelled in the study of parasitology, working in medical laboratories in Japan, Germany and the U.S. Gabe retired after 20 years of service and moved our family to Reading to manage Quality Control Medical Laboratories. Gabe moved on to open the first fast food seafood restaurant in Berks County called Sea Host in the late '60s. From there, he worked the QA at Godiva and Luden's.

He was an avid outdoorsman. Gabe retired to nirvana in Collins, Mo., where he became a steward of the land. His wisdom of nature was unparalleled and appreciated by all who knew him.

We greatly miss him and his counsel. Family includes Rose Mary Prigmore, Gabrielle Crittenden, Nancy Ruth Gregory and Loy Omar Prigmore, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Also, his sister and 2 nephews in

Missouri. Private services held in Missouri.
