Heidi R. Stobbart of Marco Island, Fla., and Keswick, Va., passed away peacefully in her Virginia home surrounded by family on September 2, 2018.

She was born August 13, 1951, in New York City, N.Y., to Arnold and Grace Berger and spent her childhood years in Basel, Switzerland. As a teenager, she returned to Old Greenwich, Conn., and later earned a B.A. in education from Southern Connecticut

University. She went on to teach German, French and ESL for many years.

Heidi raised her family in Princeton, N.J., and Wyomissing, Pa. She loved being a mother and grandmother and was

devoted to her friends and church. In addition to her passion for teaching and helping others, she enjoyed travel, gardening, her book club and the beach.

Heidi is survived by her husband of 39 years, William Stobbart; her son, John Stobbart; her daughters, Kimberly Bergner (husband Chris) and Chelsea Cox (husband Cabell); her grandson, Connor Bergner; and her sisters, Jeannette Zeiger (husband Francis) and Betsy Berger (husband James Krail).

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at the University Baptist Church in Charlottesville, followed by a graveside prayer at Monticello Memory Gardens at noon.
