Shirley L. (Steinmetz) Focht, 85, passed away on August 7, 2018, at Berkshire Commons in Exeter Township.

Born August 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William and Iona (Schott) Steinmetz.

She was a dedicated individual and humanitarian to her friends, immediate family, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed trips to the local vineyards, church bazaars and yard sales. She also traveled overseas and to Canada, but focused on visiting and enjoying the beauty of the United States. Her greatest passion was riding rails whether in

Hawaii or on the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern RR.

She worked as a data entry manager for over 35 years in the Reading and Norristown area. She also volunteered at the Reading Historical Society.

Shirley is survived by her three sons: Glenn, Dean, Craig and their families, including six granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Hazel Cosentino and Jean Smith.

No memorial is currently planned. The family is requesting any donations be given to your local Animal Rescue League, or SPCA, in Shirley's name.

The Cremation Society of Berks County Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
