Helen passed on to heaven on August 14, 2014. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother!

She will be missed by her loving family who take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited in God's Everlasting Kingdom with the love of her life, Roy F. Stauffer, who predeceased her in 2010.

Helen's surviving family includes her 4 daughters and their families as well as Roy's 2 sons and their families: daughter, Helen A., wife of James Hartman, Mohnton, with grandson, Bradley and his wife, Tamara, Tampa, FL and granddaughter, Lesley, New York, NY; daughter, Lee A. Applegate, Indian Hills, CO; daughter, Kathy L. Burkert, Reading, with grandson, Paul and his wife, Christina, Temple, and granddaughter, Kelly, wife of Paul Nebroskie with great-granddaughter, Aubrey Paige, Jacksonville, NC; daughter, Sandra L. Applegate, Indian Hills, CO; son, Mark R. Stauffer and his wife, Bonnie, Mohnton, with granddaughter, Aimee and her husband, Shane Stone with great-grandson, Caydon and great-granddaughter, Kylee, Westfield, PA; granddaughter, Lauren and her husband, Charles Bowman, Philadelphia; grandson, Matthew Stauffer, Reading; and granddaughter, Hannah Stauffer, Mohnton; son, Lee A. Stauffer and his wife, Tina, Mohnton, with granddaughter, Leia, wife of Jesse Suliveres Jr. with great-grandson, Urijah, Reading; and granddaughter, Leisha, wife of Dave Ravel, Sinking Spring.

Helen is also survived by her cherished sister, Dolores J. Stark, Mercerville, NJ. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Helen was the co-owner, with Roy, of the former Reading Harley-Davidson Sales until retirement. She was a Charter Lifetime Member of the American Motorcyclist Association and enjoyed motorcycle riding with Roy.

She was a strong-willed, independent woman who devoted her life to hard work. Loving and caring for her family was her utmost priority. She believed in creating her own destiny, yet was quick to lend a helping hand to those in need.

She loved dogs, owning several and detested animal cruelty of any kind. She was a loyal wife, friend, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She will be missed beyond measure!

Services in celebration of Helen's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W. Wyomissing Avenue, Mohnton, with Pastor Bernard Kefer officiating. Friends are invited to greet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
