Gene P. Sanchez Gene P. Sanchez, a 17 year Lake County resident, passed away peacefully October 9, 2013, at the age of 73. Gene was born February 14, 1940, in Pueblo, CO, and moved to South San Francisco at the age of 5. He was a professional singer with "Gene and the Ethics", a pressman for the Enterprise Journal in South San Francisco, and later in life owned and operated an upholstery shop in Belmont. Gene and his wife were members of the Lakeport Elks R.V. Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia; daughter, Sherry Ferguson of Lucerne; and son, Joseph Sanchez of Kelseyville; also, six grandchildren; sisters, Esther Barrett of Velarde, NM, and Margie Gentry of San Bruno, CA; brother, Ernest Sanchez of Salem, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
