Jerry Lee Basgal

Jerry Lee Basgal On October 26, 2012, Jerry passed away peacefully in Pacifica, California, with his daughter, Debbie by his side. He died from complications of reoccurring brain tumors at the age of 70. He was born to the late Frank and Mary Basgal on November 20th, 1941, in Pueblo, Colorado. Jerry married his true love, Diane Adele, in 1966. Residing in Southern California, they raised their children Tony, David and Debbie. They moved to Red Bluff, CA in 1976, where Jerry was able to enjoy his favorite passion, fishing. He loved to share his skills with the young and elderly. In 1985 moving to Clear Lake, CA. Jerry became a bass fishing guide and lure inventor/manufacturer. In February of 1990, while fishing on Clear Lake, testing a new color of lure he made, he caught the lake record largemouth bass; still standing today at 17.5 lbs. Throughout his life, Jerry challenged himself with many business opportunities and ventures. Succeeding in most, his list of accomplishments is very impressive. He always had a positive outlook on life and was an inspiration to those that knew him. Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Diane. Jerry is survived by his children, Tony and wife Lynda of Spokane, WA, David and wife Genny of Lakeport, CA, and Debbie and husband Stephen Hearne of Pacifica, CA. He also leaves behind, his brother, Mike and wife Robin of Sacramento, CA; his grandchildren, Brad, Courtney, Anthony, Jessica and Kyle; his only great grandchild, Ethan; as well as his aunt, Jay of Pueblo, CO, his uncle, Mike of Las Vegas, NV; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but are assured he is now free of pain and in God's heavenly and tender care. At Jerry's request no services will be held.
