Marvin Sanford Wilson Jr. September 7, 1948 - May 13, 2013 Marvin Wilson, 64, of Nice, CA, Minister of the Gospel, passed from life to life eternal on May 13, 2013, of congestive heart failure. He was born to Marvin, Sr. and Marjorie on September 7, 1948, in San Gabriel, CA. He was proud big brother to Mary and Mark. He loved acting, singing and tap dancing in high school. Marvin served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 as an aviation structural mechanic. In 1979, he received his AA in real estate. At age 31, Marvin dedicated his life to the Lord and to preaching the Gospel. Over the next several years, he received his BA and MA degrees in Christian Counseling. In 2012, he was awarded a Doctorate in Christian Education and Biblical Studies. Marvin served as Psychology Professor at Freedom Christian University since 2008. Pastor Marvin was an enthusiastic and inspiring minister who loved teaching and encouraging people. Marvin and Jackie ministered together in word and music for 25 years. They hosted the weekly radio program, A Christian Perspective, on KPFZ, as Marvelous Marv and Just Jackie. Also, Marvin hosted The Homecoming Show on local LCC-TV. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Jackie; children, Dava (Danny) Gee, Sean (Kay) Wieland, and Rachel Wilson (Dan) Serpico; grandchildren, Josh, Nate, Christa, Michael and Judy; sister, Mary (Brian) Casey; brother, Mark Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a Celebration of Marvin's Life on Saturday, May 25, at North Shore Christian Fellowship, 9456 Main St., Upper Lake, CA, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Marvin can be made to the Marvin S. Wilson Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, Mendo-Lake Credit Union, P.O. Box 520, Lakeport, CA, 95453. Scholarship Fund is for Freedom Christian University, Kelseyville, CA.
