Mr. Larson was my principal in elementary school and then became my 6th grade teacher. I have to say I was pretty intimidated when I found out that my principal was then going to be my teacher, but he was one of my favorite teachers. Even though he was tough and always had his paddle ready, he also had a very big heart. I still remember waiting in line for Larson's Pizza opened and I still to this day call it Larson's by mistake. My heart goes out to the Larson family for their loss, but am thankful that we all have another wonderful angel looking after us.

As a part of Mr. Larson's 6th Grade Class in the 1950's, I remember a "no nonsense" classroom and that P.E. meant marching around the field to his loud orders! He was our first male teacher and with his military training, we learned he meant what he said when holding the ever present paddle! On the lighter side, I can still see him with his "Chap Stick" and flipping and catching it as he walked around the room during a quiet assignment or a test time. He certainly was well respected in our community and his legacy will live on. My sympathy to the Larson Family.

I loved Mr Larson, he was my principal and I remember the wooden paddle with the holes in it. I am sure my brother saw it more than me but I had my share of Principal visits. He was a wonderful man and will be missed. The whole Grinols' family will keep the Larson family in our thoughts and prayers.

Our sincere condolences to the whole family. Lloyd was a kind person, a gentleman of the old school, and a good neighbor who always had a sweet smile and a cheerful greeting when we met him. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear that another Kelseyville classic has passed on. Lloyd was the principal when I started my 13 years of school in Kelseyville. I loved seeing my friends in their little league uniforms hanging out of the trunk of the old green car that had been in countless Kelseyville parades... my dad even had his ride in that old car as a student athlete. I'm sorry about his passing, and I'm really happy to have been a tiny part of his long 89 years. My good thoughts to the Larson family.

As I told my nephew, Jeff, Lloyd's grandson, Lloyd was a Kelseyville icon and treasure. My husband was in his first class at Kelseyville Elementary school. and our son was in his last. We have a lot of great memories from the years in between. His legacy will go on.

Lloyd Larson was a throwback to a time when the school teacher was the coach and the mentor and the friend. My affiliation with Lloyd goes back some 33 years when I was a very young coach in Kelseyville. Lloyd was great with advice, helpful in so many ways, and someone I could always rely upon for great feedback. Rest in peace, Lloyd. You made a great impact upon the lives of many local kids and you even helped out a few of us in our attempt to carry on in your footsteps.
