Obituary Condolences

Irene Milano August 20, 1924 - September 27, 2013 Irene Milano, age 89, died at St. John's Retirement Village in Woodland, California, on Friday, September 27, 2013, due to an extended illness. Born on August 20, 1924, in Fortuna, Missouri, she lived in Clearlake Oaks and was the co-owner of Boatland - Cush and Irene's with her husband Cush until they sold their business in 1968. Irene subsequently worked as a bookkeeper for a firm in Kelso, Washington, the University of California, Davis, and Clearlake Flagship Marine until her retirement in 2000. Irene was an original member of the Lower Lake High School Athletic Boosters Club and received an award for her contributions to girls' athletics in May of 1969. Survivors include son, Robert D. Milano and wife, Lynn, of Clearlake Oaks; daughter, Lola J. Whitehead and husband, Jim, of Woodland; grandsons, Robert J. Milano and wife, Angela, of Elk Grove, David P. Milano of Clearlake Oaks, Ray M. Milano and wife, Anna, of Clearlake Oaks, Jason L. Whitehead and wife, Brandy, of Woodland, and Christopher G. Whitehead and wife, Brenda, of Woodland; granddaughters, Ariel J. Webb and husband, Derek, of Sacramento, and Lauren A. Pangelina and husband, Dustin, of Clearlake Oaks; as well as 17 great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John Cushman "Cush" Milano, in 2007. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel, 16140 Main Street, Lower Lake. Interment will immediately follow at Lower Lake Cemetery, 9040 Lake Street, in Lower Lake. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
