Lorraine Gwen Rothstein November 9, 1937 - April 24, 2013 Lorraine passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 24. After whispering "I love you" to her devoted husband, Tom, Lorrie gently drifted to heaven to join her beloved daughter, Kelley. Lorrie and Tom raised their family in the Bay Area, where Lorrie was a highly respected secretary with the Richmond Unified School District. In 1991, they moved to Loch Lomond and began enjoying their retirement. They enjoyed exercising together at Quail Run, dancing, as well as all types of travel, from camping to cruises. Music brought Lorrie great joy throughout her life. She began by harmonizing with her sister, Barb, while washing dishes, and went on to singing with the Lake County Chorus and Sweet Adeline's. She sang for many years in the choir at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clearlake. Lorrie also had a lot of fun with her T.O.P.S. friends in Lakeport. For the past 13 years, Tom and Lorrie have split their time between Santa Rosa and Loch Lomond. A two-time lymphoma survivor, Lorraine amazed people by receiving her chemotherapy treatment one day and playing tennis the next. Her husband, Tom, remained Lorrie's compassionate and doting caregiver all the way through Lorrie's seven-year journey through Alzheimer's disease. Lorraine leaves behind her sons, Michael (Kathy) of Kelseyville and Tim (Susan) of Oklahoma; son-in-law, Al Leong of San Francisco; precious grandchildren, Matt and Jill Rothstein, Theresa Rothstein, Che and Susan Valdez, and Leslie Valdez. Lorrie was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held for immediate family, and a Celebration of Life is being planned for early fall for all those whose lives were touched by Sweet Lorraine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities Alzheimer's Respite, PO Box 4900, Santa Rosa, CA 95402-4900 or Sutter Hospice Santa Rosa, (707) 535-5700.
