Ronald Joseph Martin October 23, 1939 - March 11, 2014 Ron was always very proud that he had been born in San Francisco and lived in the Bay Area his entire life. He grew up on the Peninsula with his parents, Robert and Loretta, graduating with Cap's class of '57. During many of his working years he was a project manager at several local skylight firms and he took great pride in pointing out "his skylights" throughout San Francisco and other US cities. There was just no bigger 49er fan than Ron. He lived for football season and was in his glory attending all five Superbowl wins. This love resulted in his playing an active role in the San Francisco 49er Booster Club for many years. Somewhat of a Jerry Garcia lookalike, Ron truly had music in his heart and soul. Doo Wop music was certainly one of his favorites. He also had many other interests: attending Giants games, showing his prized PT Cruiser, motorcycle racing while winning a couple of world records, working on the B of D at the Keys Club, and heading up a Neighborhood Watch group. While he loved the ocean, he used to say he wasn't born in Lake County, but he got here as fast as he could. He was happiest at the lake. He lived the kind of life we all aspire to, busy and happy in the company of many, many friends. His wonderful sense of humor and his unique t-shirts will be missed by many, especially by his wife, Brenda and Eddie D. In lieu of contributions please take a moment to enjoy a glass of good wine and give a toast to Ron. That's what he would have wanted. Please share your memories by signing the guestbook at
