William Long Burns William Long Burns, age 88, born in Missouri, graduated from Glendale high school. He served in United States Air Force as Second Lt. 1944-46, as a Thunderbolt pilot. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Harber, whom he married June 1965. He retired from United Airlines as an aircraft mechanic and served in the Santa Clara Sheriffs office as a reserve deputy. He resided in Clearlake over 35 years where he enjoyed retirement and was a member of the Elks Lodge 2299. He is survived by his brother; Richard Lee Burns of Stevenson, WA; niece, Robin S. Burns-Aman of Carson, WA; nephew, Eric S. Burns of Clinton, MT; great-nephews, Daniel M. Mershon, Wyatt J. Burns, and Morgan L. Burns, and step-daughter, Lea Anne Grabbs and her family in Missouri. William was also preceded in death by his parents; Mildred Hendrixson and Clifford Elwood Burns, and great-nephew, Micheal E. Mershon.
