Eugene Lovisone Eugene Lovisone, Sr., 96, of Lower Lake, California, passed away on January 20, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Clearlake Masonic Lodge, 7100 South Center Drive at 1 p.m. Eugene was born in Oakland, California, on July 10, 1916, and moved to Lower Lake at the age of six and resided there for 90 years. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II as a B-25 airplane mechanic. He built special fuel tanks on the B-25 bombers for the Doolittle raid. After his military service, Eugene moved back to his family property in Lower Lake where he grew walnuts and eventually grapes. Eugene also owned and operated a well drilling business, drilling wells throughout Lake County for over 40 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing cards and mostly, working on his ranch. He loved traveling, although he didn't like being away from home for too long. Eugene is survived by his brother, Harry Lovisone of Clearlake; his longtime companion, Catalina Candel of Lower Lake; his daughter, Dawn Bianco of Gallatin, Tennessee; his son, Eugene Lovisone, Jr. of Clearlake Oaks; daughter, Patricia Lovisone of Folsom, California; granddaughter, Tiffany Lovisone of Austin, Texas; grandson, Christopher Ramsey of Folsom, California; and grandchildren, Paul, Rob and Jennifer Frates of Sacramento. Eugene is preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Lovisone and sister, Alma Carbonneau. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Lake County or your favorite local charity.
