Thornberg, Eugene G. - Wayland (Town Times)  
WAYLAND, Mass. - Eugene Gregory Thornberg, 61, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 16, 2016, from injuries sustained in a bicycling accident. He was born on March 29, 1955, in Waterbury a son of Eugene H. Thornberg and Joan M. (Hirbour) Thornberg. Gene was the devoted husband of Patrice L. (McCormick) Thornberg, of Wayland, Mass. He was the loving father of Patrick E. Thornberg, of Paris Island, N.C. He was the dedicated son of Eugene H. Thornberg and Joan M. (Hirbour) Thornberg, of Waterbury; and exceptional brother of Mark Thornberg and his wife, Julie Thornberg, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Allen Thornberg and his wife, Lorrie Thornberg, of Brewster,Mass., Claudette Adams and her husband, Lawrence Adams, of Oakville, Diane Pleasant and her husband, David Pleasant, of Thomaston, Maureen Crocker, of Framingham, Mass., Daren Thornberg and his wife, Frances Thornberg, of Wolcott, and Paul Thornberg and his wife, Lorelei Thornberg, of Thomaston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gene spent his formative years in Waterbury, and graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. He had been a resident of Wayland, Mass. for the past 17 years with his family. He had a dedicated career as an executive chef at Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. Gene was known to be an exceptional chef and a true artist. He was an avid bike rider and was an outdoor enthusiast. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Gene's life was held on Monday, June 20, at the Plymouth Church of Framingham, 87 Edgell Road, Framingham, Mass., with the Rev. Gregory Morrisse. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Gene's memory may be sent to the Plymouth Church of Framingham. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of Wayland, MA. Timm, Sr., Frederick - Meriden (The Record-Journal)  
MERIDEN - Frederick J. Timm, Sr. 91, husband of 70 years to Phyllis M. Washington Timm, of Shore Drive, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born in Fair Haven, Mass. a son of the late John A. and Edna Laiscell Timm and had resided in Meriden for many years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was employed at the Charles Parker Company of Meriden, and was a clerk in the U.S. Post Office from 1955 to 1987, and then he worked for the State of Connecticut as a material storage manager, Centrtal Connecticut Regional Center, for 10 years and later was employed with Shades of Green Florist for 10 years. Mr. Timm was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Meriden. In addition to his wife he is survived by his six children, Elaine James, of Portland, Fred Timm, Jr., of Southington, John A. (Marybeth) Timm, of Bristol, Charlotte (Joesph) Begnal, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jessie (Donna) Timm, of Meriden, Madeline Timm, of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is also survived by a sister, Ellen Fenner, of Springfield, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Timm was predeceased by a daughter, Marion Timm; and sisters, Alice Barboza, Dorothy Taber and Marjorie Betters. He was also predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Robert, Henry Timm, John "Jack" and, Lester Laiscell. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 159 E. Main St., Meriden, everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Interment with Military honors will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden.
