WALLINGFORD - Albert John Becker, 91, of Wallingford, passed away, Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.
Albert was born in Tamaqua, Pa., on July 12, 1922, a son of the late John Caldwell Becker and Julia Anna Stahler Becker. Albert graduated from Tamaqua High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy
from 1942-1946, serving during World War II
in the Philippines. Albert was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years. He enjoyed model trains and was a lifelong member of the Masons Keystone Chapter 27, Compass Lodge 9 and the Elks Lodge
771 in Middletown.
Albert is survived by his sons, Ralph Becker (Cheryl) of Southington, and Mark Becker (Wendy) of Meriden; his daughter, Diane Greene Jenkins, of California; his stepchildren, David Borkowski (Lee Anne) of Madison, Susan Wiese (Dwight) of Wallingford, and Cheri Pazera (Bogdan) of Delaware; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Tepo and her husband, Michael; and his brother, Robert Becker and his wife, Aldona, all of Allentown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Albert is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Joy King; his son, John Karl Greene; his brothers, Russel and Howard; and his sister, Dorothy.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Saturday, March 22, from 2 until 3:45 p.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
